Amplifiers - 2 Channel - Kicker ZX2002 AMP 2x100w

A CD or cassette radio produces no more than a maximum of nine "real" watts into four speakers given the power it's getting from the car's electrical system. So what if you want more than nine real watts to power each of your four speakers? You need an amp.

It's true that amplifiers will give you more power, which will let you play your music more loudly. Amplifiers also improve the sound quality of your music at all volume levels.

An amplifier's job is to take a signal from a source (input) and make it larger (gain). The hard part is amplifying the signal without adding any "artifacts" or distortion. Amps must have a power supply strong enough to keep them going and must store enough power (current) to deliver all of the transients (drum kicks, power chords, the slap of a bass guitar) in the music.

Car Audio Speaker Wire - Import SW-SW-16500

Speaker wire is also important in terms of size and strands for the same reasons but the jacket is not as important because it will not see the same chemicals as the power wire. When shopping for speaker wire, look for oxygen free copper (OFC) wiring. The size of your speaker wiring depends on the amount of power going to your speakers and the length of wire from the amplifier to the speakers. Most systems will need to use 16 gauge to 12 gauge wire.

Subwoofers 15" - Power Acoustik FUBR-15 Subwoofer 15"

To choose the right subwoofer, you really have to understand how different subwoofer designs act in different situations and how they work with the rest of your system. We have always believed that the better you understand how to get the most out of your subwoofer investment, the happier you will be when you start to use your new subs. We find we need to teach most customers the fundamentals of subwoofer design and get rid of some misconceptions they may have before they really understand what they need. We don't claim to know everything, but years of experience in all situations has given us insight.

The two biggest determining factors in choosing the best type of subwoofer you need are the subwoofer's specific application, and the type of enclosure you are going to use to reproduce the frequencies right above your subwoofer crossover point.

Tweeters - Kenwood KFC-T207

Tweeters are much smaller units, designed to produce the highest frequencies. And if you think about it, this makes perfect sense. To create higher frequency waves -- waves in which the points of high pressure and low pressure are closer together -- the driver diaphragm must vibrate more quickly. This is harder to do with a large cone because of the mass of the cone.

GPS Navigation - Nextar NEX-P7 Navigation System 7"

GPS receivers make getting from here to there (and everywhere in between) easy and convenient for everyone. Whether it's for your car, bike, boat or just to carry with you on a hike, GPS systems go anywhere.

GPS receivers now offer various features that fit the needs of a variety of people. If you travel frequently you may want a receiver with text-to-speech capabilities that can pronounce street names, so you'll hear "turn right on Maple Lane" rather than "turn right in 300 feet." Or if you spend most of your time commuting to work, getting up-to-date weather and traffic information and alternate routes to avoid the traffic can make it even easier for you.

Advanced receivers can play MP3s, or even connect to satellite radio services like XM™ and Sirius™, while other receivers can translate foreign languages, proving there's almost nothing they can't do.

There are no subscription fees, and the system can support an unlimited number of users without slowing down.
